🎣 Try the Three River Park District’s Free Fishing Rod Loaner Program This Summer

Looking for an easy, family‑friendly way to get outside this summer? The Three River Park District’s Fishing Rod Loaner Program makes it simple to enjoy a day on the water — no gear required. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, visitors can borrow free fishing rods and a small tackle box at select park locations. Bait is also available for purchase at participating sites, making this a convenient option for beginners and seasoned anglers alike.

How It Works

Fishing rods and tackle boxes can be borrowed in two‑hour time slots. You can check out equipment in person at participating parks or reserve it online up to 7 days in advance. Most loaner stations are located inside boat rental buildings, where staff will help with both checkout and return.
